1st Asian Beach Games, enthusiasm in the Global Crisis
Situated at the monument Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), Nusa Dua, Bali Island Indonesia, President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono last night (18/10) to promote the history with the opening of the Asian Beach Games. this event is the first beach sport party in Asia followed by 45 countries.
The President hopes, the Asian Beach Games (awesome party just) a place to improve the relationship between the ropes nation. Eventually, is very valuable in the world facing a crisis, conflict and poverty.
This is the fact about the 1st Asian Beach Games :
- ABG in celebration began 18 until 26 October 2008
- ABG followed by the 45 countries in Asia, namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Bahrain, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Macao China, Malaisia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Palestine, DPR Korea, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, Tajikistan, Turmekistan, Timor-Leste, Taipei, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Yemen
- ABG Equalize 17 branches of sports, namely , handball, kabaddi, pencak silat, soccer, sepak Takraw, beach volleyball, wrestling, body building, dragon boat, jetski, marathon swimming, and paragliding. In addition, the screen, surfing, Triathlon, wind surfing, and woodball. Meanwhile, two other branches, basketball and water polo a branch Exhibition.
- Ths ABG Mascot is Jalak Bali bird (Leucopan Rotschildi)
- ABG compete 1,090 medals, consisting of 340 gold medals, 340 silver medals and 410 bronze medals.
