2012 Olympics Logo is Racist?
Iran objects towards the logo for the 2012 Olympics logo, contending it is racist because it resembles the phrase “Zion” and warning of a feasible boycott from the games.
The secretary general of Iran’s National Olympic Committee explained Iran sent a letter to International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge. The letter claims the 2012 olympic logo spells out “Zion,” a biblical expression extensively recognized to refer towards the city of Jerusalem.
In comments carried through the official IRNA news agency Monday, secretary standard Bahram Afsharzadeh stated the letter urges other Muslim states to oppose the “racist logo.”
The London logo reveals the figures “2012″ in 4 jagged figures and until eventually now has long been criticized only for its layout. The IOC stated it received the letter and joined London organizers in rejecting Iran’s complaint.
