7.2 Magnitude Earthquake in Mariana Islands
Mariana Islands region nowadays suffered an earthquake measured at 7.2 magnitude, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The earthquake occurred Friday August 13, 2010 at 21:19 UTC. The epicenter was 375 km WSW of Hagatna, Guam, 445 km WSW of Rota, Northern Mariana Islands, 485 km NE of Yap, Micronesia and 550 WSW of Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.
It isn’t yet obvious regardless of whether or not the earthquake has caused any injury or killed any individuals inside the Mariana Islands.
The Mariana Islands possess a total of 389 square miles shared by two administrative units, Guam - a US territory and the Northern Marianna Islands including the islands of Saipan, Tinian and Rota – a commonwealth from the United States.
The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center mentioned the Mariana Islands earthquake will not trigger any destructive tsunami.
