Amy Locane Drunk Driving Accident
Amy Locane, the actress who played Sandy to Grant Show’s Jake inside the original cast of “Melrose Place,” may be charged with second-degree vehicular homicide after a Sunday night crash in Montgomery, N.J., by which the passenger in the other vehicle was killed. Locane admitted to authorities that she’d been drinking wine before the crash.
Court documents allege Locane, 39, who was driving a Chevy Tahoe, struck the passenger side of a Mercury Milan as the other automobile was turning into a driveway. Helen Seeman was pronounced dead in the scene; Fred Seeman was flown to some hospital and is in essential problem.
Bail may be set at $50,000; the mother of two also faces a charge of third-degree assault by auto. She reportedly rear-ended a car in Princeton shortly just before the fatal crash, according to a prosecutor’s statement.
Locane, who is married to liquor store owner Mark Bovenizer and goes by the married name Locane-Bovenizer, told police she’d had a number of of glasses of wine. Her blood was tested at a Princeton hospital following her arrest Sunday night.
If convicted, she faces five to 10 years in prison.
