No one is aware of why Aretha Franklin had surgery yesterday morning. All that is currently being stated is that the surgery was successful. She was in a position to release a statement about it, thanking the medical doctors and telling all people that God was in manage.

The 68 year-old star has cancelled all her performances by means of May, so it has to be something serious.
