Bank of America Online Banking Down

Bank of America Corp. says its online banking service was down for about four hours but assistance has been restored.

A representative for the nation’s biggest bank, Tara Burke, declined to specify a cause for Friday’s outage except to say that it was a “temporary system” concern.

She could not say whether the web site has experienced a comparable across-the-board outage before.

The bank, based in Charlotte, N.C., stated support was restored at all-around 5:15 p.m. EDT. The outage started at close to 1:25 p.m. EDT. Some clients might nevertheless have problems signing on as a result of the volume of folks wanting to access the website.

Clients could also get account information from ATMs or banking centers. Burke stated none of Bank of America’s 18,000 ATMs have been affected through the outage.
