Today, Research in Motion announced pre-orders, pricing and in-store availability date from the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet with Best Buy.

The BlackBerry PlayBook is going to be available in Best Buy, Best Buy Mobile, Best Buy Canada and Future Shop retailers April 19th in the following models and price points: 16GB Wi-Fi : $499, 32GB Wi-Fi : $599, 64GB Wi-Fi : $699


The PlayBook also keeps tempo with Apple’s iconic unit with a 1GHz dual-core processor. Elsewhere, it sports a 7-inch 1024 x 600 WSVGA capacitive LCD touch screen, 1GB of RAM, a 1080p HDMI output, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and dual cameras — 3MP front and 5MP again. Additionally, it arrives using a brand new QNX-based operating system, dubbed BlackBerry Tablet OS, and has a special active bezel that responds to gestures created from the edge the screen.

The unit is going to be obtainable in Best Buy retailers and Best Buy Mobile shops in the U.S. and at Best Buy and Future Shop stores in Canada. A 4G variant is anticipated to launch on Sprint later on this year but no specifics happen to be shared so far.
