Blekko Search Engine : Searching Without the Spam
Blekko can make its debut these days. Its chief executive states Blekko’s aim is always to clean up internet searches by only showing top rated final results from internet sites it considers trustworthy. It is going to limit searches to about three billion approved websites.
Blekko, a search engine that will open to the public on Monday.
Rich Skrenta, Blekko’s co-founder and chief executive, says that since Google began, the Internet has been overrun by unhelpful web sites filled with links and keywords that push them to the highest of Google’s search results but offer little relevant info. Blekko aims to display search results from only useful, trustworthy web sites.
“The goal is to clean up Web search and get all the spam out of it,” Mr. Skrenta said.
Blekko’s search engine scours three billion Web pages that it considers worthwhile, however it exhibits only the highest results on any offered topic. It calls its edited lists of Websites slashtags.
