Workers at Generac Power Systems Inc. spent the weekend shipping portable generators soon after Hurricane Irene left millions of residences and companies along the East Coast with out power.
Demand for generators started to swell early final week amongst residents and company operators along the eastern seaboard soon after climate specialists started predicting the path from the storm,. Demand intensified soon after the hurricane left a reported six million commercial and residential consumers with out electrical power. The hurricane produced a huge level of energy outages.

Hurricane Irene Affect: Hatteras Island And Outer Banks Towns Cut Off From Mainland
Hatteras Island inside the Outer Banks of North Carolina continues to be cut off in the mainland soon after Hurricane Irene made its 1st U.S. landfall on the 200-mile-long chain of tourist-friendly barrier islands. Hurricane Irene Hits Atlantic Beach NC
The center of Hurricane Irene has now hit the coast of North Carolina near Cape Lookout with Category 1-force winds of 85 mph.

The far finish in the fishing pier in Atlantic Beach, N.C. collapsed overnight, ABC News affiliate WTVD reported. The 100-foot long pier is still standing, but its finish has disappeared in to the ocean.
Nearly 200,000 properties in North Carolina are experiencing power outages, as outlined by Power Energy. Winds as much as 85 mph ripped power lines from their poles, causing numerous with the shortages. The hardest hit places were Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach, N.C.
