="hepatitisA state panel reccomended a $16,000 fine Thursday for an assisted residing center exactly where 6 died from Hepatitis B. The Glen Care facility in Mount Olive was the middle in the outbreak that hospitalized 8 clients. Many those who knew the hepatitis victims said the fine isn’t strong adequate.

The North Carolina Penalty Review Committee unanimously proposed the fine to Barbara Ryan, chief in the state’s adult care licensure area.

Investigators using the Division of Public Health concluded five health-related technicians at Glen Care reused diabetes pens, products utilised to examine blood-glucose levels. Seven from the 8 individuals who contracted Hepatitis B had been diabetes paitients.
