Don Meredith Dies
Don Meredith, among the most recognizable figures from the early Dallas Cowboys and an original member of ABC’s “Monday Night Football” broadcast team, died Sunday. He was 72.
Meredith’s wife, Susan, advised The Associated Press on Monday her husband died in Santa Fe soon after suffering a brain hemorrhage and lapsing into a coma. She and her daughter had been at Meredith’s aspect when he died.
Meredith performed for that Cowboys from 1960-1968, turning into the commencing quarterback in 1965. Although he in no way led the Cowboys to the Super Bowl, Meredith was one of many franchise’s firs stars.
