Eric LeGrand: Rutgers Player Paralyzed
Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand was paralyzed under the neck following creating a tackle during a sport towards Army, and he will stay hospitalized for the close to long term.
Coach Greg Schiano mentioned Sunday that LeGrand was resting within the intensive care unit at Hackensack University Medical Center. He acquired emergency surgery overnight to stabilize the backbone following making the tackle throughout Saturday’s game at the new Meadowlands Stadium.
Schiano, who had tears in his eyes during his press conference following Rutgers’ 23-20 overtime win, talked to his group about LeGrand close to noon on Sunday.
LeGrand was hurt with 5:10 to play within the fourth quarter in opposition to Army, generating a violent deal with on Malcolm Brown on the kickoff return after Rutgers tied the game at 17.
