Ex-NBA Player’s Body Reportedly Found
The uncle of former NBA player Lorenzen Wright said Wednesday that police have informed the family members the athlete who had been missing for 10 days has been found dead.
Curtis Wright told the Associated Press that law enforcement called the player’s father, Herb Wright, Wednesday afternoon with all the news he had died. There was no immediate word about the trigger.
Police declined to comment publicly, even to some family members who gathered at the scene. The Commercial Appeal cited a police source as identifying a system found inside a field in southeast Memphis as Wright’s.
Nearly 50 folks gathered following to a road blocked off by police beside a wooded location about 15 miles south of downtown Memphis, while helicopters showed investigators scouring the grounds for evidence.
The 34-year-old Wright was last seen July 18 when he was anticipated to fly out of town. His loved ones filed a missing particular person report July 22.
