FDA Avastin Hearing
About a dozen women with breast cancer, some tearful, beseeched the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Tuesday to retain the approval with the drug Avastin like a treatment for that disease.
Testifying at a hearing in the F.D.A., the ladies mentioned that though clinical trials may well not have demonstrated a large advantage overall from remedy with the drug, the medicine does assist some ladies considerably and needs to be left obtainable for them.
The hearing is being held Tuesday and Wednesday to offer Genentech, the drug’s producer, a chance to persuade the agency to back down from a tentative decision produced in December to revoke the approval of Avastin being a remedy for breast cancer.
