The stormy weather in the Northeast is slowing travel by land and air as the evening rush hour gets under way.

Interstate 95 is flooded to one lane Tuesday in some areas of Rhode Island but is not shut down. The highway is the East Coast’s main north-south road.

Flooding is also being reported on other major routes and ramps throughout the region, including a heavily traveled section Route 24. The highway links eastern Rhode Island to the Boston area.

Amtrak says some trains through Rhode Island and Connecticut are delayed because of high water on the tracks. Passengers on commuter trains between Providence and Boston must board buses for part of the way because of flooding.

Airports including LaGuardia and Kennedy in New York and Newark Liberty in New Jersey have also been reporting weather-related delays.
