Gregg Allman has a new liver
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer’s manager claims he underwent a prosperous liver transplant surgery Wednesday morning in the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla.
Allman started treatment for Hepatitis C in 2007 but chronic harm to his liver led for the transplant. He had been about the waiting list until doctors discovered a ideal liver.
Gregg Allman’s individual manager, Michael Lehman, told The Associated Press inside a telephone interview that Allman got the call late Tuesday afternoon and drove to Jacksonville from his home close to Savannah, Ga., for your early morning surgery.
The singer, keyboardist and guitarist co-founded The Allman Brothers Band in 1969. Lehman claims he might be back around the road by November.
