The House of Representatives voted Tuesday to give first-time homebuyers 3 more months to close on their purchases and land an $8,000 federal income tax credit.

But the Senate had far better act fast – the deadline is at present Wednesday.

The bill does not aid any person at present shopping for a residence. Buyers must have signed a contract by April 30 to qualify for that tax break. At problem is when the deal must be finalized.

The House voted 409 to 5 to delay the closing deadline to Sept. 30 in a stand-alone measure. The move comes almost a week right after the Senate failed to advance a very much larger jobs bill that contained the tax credit provision.

The smaller House bill would increase the deficit by $9 million over a decade.

    1. It is not the point to become obsessed with small business accounting. Though it is true that knowledge of accounting is valuable in your business, it is by no means the only thing you should pay attention to. There are other sides to your business that you may be better at, like customer care or innovation. Hiring accounting services is a good idea but it is also good to understand what they do because it is your business. We do not intend to turn you into a manager or accountant that knows it all.
