Howard County Public Schools Closed

Students had class throughout the day. But the snow has led to a number of other school-related closings and postponements.

All after school and evening activities in the Howard County Public Schools System have been canceled. However, programs provided by Columbia Association and the county department of recreation and parks are still being held as usual. The Howard County Board of Education’s meeting scheduled for Dec. 16 has been canceled.

Others school closing are :

• The Columbia Art Center will be closing at 5 pm
• Atholton High School, a dance concert that had been scheduled for today has been canceled
• River Hill High School, the dance concert has been rescheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m
• Hammond High School’s student of the month breakfast scheduled for Friday morning is postponed until Dec. 20 at 8:10 a.m.
• The fourth-grade play auditions at Stevens Forest Elementary School have been rescheduled for Dec. 20, from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m
• Clemens Crossing Elementary’s fifth-grade chorus concert has been rescheduled to Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
• The winter concert at Bryant Woods Elementary School has been postponed and has been rescheduled for Dec. 21 at 7 p.m.
• The winter concert for Oakland Mills Middle School has been postponed and will be rescheduled for Dec. 20 at 7 p.m.
• The PTA meeting at Talbott Springs Elementary School has been canceled.
