Hurricane Tomas hit Haiti
Hurricane Tomas is lashing earthquake-ravaged Haiti with higher winds and rain, and forecasters have warned of flooding and hazardous situations.
The U.S. National Hurricane Center says the heart of the storm is predicted to move west of Haiti on Friday.
Forecasters warn that Tomas, with winds of 135 kilometers per hour, could dump as much as 25 centimeters of rain in some locations, triggering life-threatening flash floods and mudslides. However the country just isn’t predicted to endure a immediate hit.
