Jeff Conaway passed away on Friday after struggling in coma for numerous days while in the Encino Medical Center Northwest, California.

The American actor, Jeff Conaway who is most notable on his portrayal around the movie Grease and around the series Taxi passed away at the age of 60 on Friday soon after enduring Pneumonia too as SEPSIS and even fell into coma for many days.

Jeff Conaway was taken in to the hospital and was reported that he slipped in coma since May 11 when he was discovered unresponsive. He was fighting for pneumonia at the same time as sepsis and never with overdose to drugs like numerous people insisted.

Moreover towards the reports, Jeff Conaway experienced drug and alcohol addiction, the revelation of his addiction continues to be exposed when he joined the reality show named, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

What is Sepsis ?

According to MayoClinic, Sepsis is a potentially life-threatening condition, in which your immune system’s reaction to an infection may injure body tissues far from the original infection.

Many doctors view sepsis as a three-stage syndrome, starting with sepsis and progressing through severe sepsis to septic shock. The goal is to treat sepsis during its mild stage, before it becomes more dangerous.

Sepsis Symptoms

There are three-stage syndrome (by MayoClinic) :

Sepsis
To be diagnosed with sepsis, you must exhibit at least two of the following symptoms:

  • Fever above 101.3 F (38.5 C) or below 95 F (35 C)
  • Heart rate higher than 90 beats a minute
  • Respiratory rate higher than 20 breaths a minute
  • Probable or confirmed infection

Severe sepsis
Your diagnosis will be upgraded to severe sepsis if you also exhibit at least one of the following signs and symptoms, which indicate organ dysfunction:

  • Areas of mottled skin
  • Significantly decreased urine output
  • Abrupt change in mental status
  • Decrease in platelet count
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Abnormal heart function

Septic shock
To be diagnosed with septic shock, you must have the signs and symptoms of severe sepsis — plus extremely low blood pressure.
