Megan McAllister and Phillip Markoff Story
Megan McAllister may be the lady who was formerly engaged to alleged Craigslist Killer Phillip Markoff. In the time of their engagement, the two had been med students in Boston. Markoff was arrested in April 2009 and accused of killing a masseuse he met on Craigslist in a Boston hotel room.
McAllister maintained his innocence in numerous statements to the media swiftly following his arrest, nevertheless the wedding was called off shortly right after that. These days, she is back inside the news simply because Markoff has committed suicide although in his Boston jail cell. The 24-year-old former medical student was pronounced dead by medics right after he was discovered unresponsive in his cell this morning.
“Markoff was alone in his cell and all evidence collected thus far indicates that he took his own life,” a statement said. “Nonetheless, as with all such cases, a comprehensive investigation will be conducted to determine the facts and circumstances surrounding his death.”
Markoff was serving time for the April 14, 2009 fatal shooting and attempted robbery of a 25-year-old masseuse named Julissa Brisman at a hotel in Boston. Police feel the two met by means of a Craigslist ad Brisman posted. Markoff also allegedly robbed two other ladies he met by means of the on the internet classifieds web site.
