Metrodome Roff Collapse in Minneapolis
The Minneapolis Metrodome roof collapsed, because of the hefty snow from the area. The roof with the city’s 64,000-seat football stadium caved in following about 17 inches of snow hit the Twin Cities since Friday.
Minneapolis city officials have been involved about the Metrodome’s Teflon-covered inflatable dome on Friday evening, leading to the scheduled NFL game between the New York Giants and the Minnesota Vikings to become postponed. The NY Giants were not able to even get towards the Minneapolis airport due to the snow and their plane needed to be diverted to Kansas City.
The National Weather Service reports that the Twin Cities acquired 17.1 inches of snow among Friday evening and Saturday evening. This snowstorm was one of many five biggest to hit the Twin Cities region.
