Michigan Storms Effect – More Than 100,000 Without Power
Authorities say severe thunderstorms in Michigan downed trees and power lines, leaving much more than 100,000 electric customers devoid of electricity.
CMS Energy Corp.’s Consumers Energy subsidiary states Wednesday morning that about 104,000 of its consumers had been devoid of power, including about 35,500 in Kent County, 11,000 in Ionia County and 8,850 in Midland County.
DTE Energy Co. says about 12,000 of its clients were with out power Wednesday morning hours, such as about 4,100 in Lapeer County and 3,400 in Ingham County.
The Grand Rapids Press reviews the storms packed winds of as much as 72 mph within the Grand Rapids area on Tuesday night time. A downed power line was blamed for a home fire in Kent County’s Ada Township.
The storms moved across the state into Wednesday early morning. (AP)
