Miguel Cabrera Arrested
Detroit Tigers slugger Miguel Cabrera was arrested late Wednesday on suspicion of drunken driving in Florida, police explained, the newest episode for the 1st baseman who has struggled with drinking-related problems.
Cabrera, 27, was spotted by a deputy within a car which has a smoking engine alongside a street in Fort Pierce. Within the automobile, Cabrera smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and took a swig from a bottle of scotch before a deputy, in accordance towards the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office. He refused to cooperate and more deputies were referred to as towards the scene.
The arrest occurred about 110 miles southeast of Lakeland, in which the Tigers hold spring teaching. Pitchers and catchers started workout routines previously this week, but place gamers like Cabrera will not start off till Saturday.
