NFL Top 100 Players of All Time
The NFL Network just concluded its weekly series The Top 100: NFL’s Greatest Players. Countdown of the Top 100 : NFL’s Greatest Players ended last night with Jerry Rice (1) getting the top spot with Jim Brown(2), Lawrence Taylor(3), Joe Montana(4), Walter Payton(5), Johnny Unitas(6), Reggie White(7), Peyton Manning(8), Don Hutson(9), Dick Butkus(10) rounding out the Top 10.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the fans were keen on big-name passers, placing five quarterbacks in the top 10. In fact, Steve Young was ranked the 13th greatest player of all time by the fans; the NFL has him 81st. While Joe Namath was deemed the 42nd greatest player by the fans, the NFL put him at the bottom: #100.
