NYS Dept of Labor Declares NYS Unemployment
The New York State Unemployment rate remains stable at 8.8% for February 2010.
8,100 private sector jobs have been gained in New York Point out in February 2010 according towards the New York State Labor Department. This represents a 0.1% gain. The point out also saw gains in January.
“New York State’s labor market continues to improve. We’ve now added jobs for two consecutive months and the state’s unemployment rate has leveled off. However, following previous recessions, it has taken the state about five years, on average, to regain all of the jobs lost during a downturn,” said Peter A. Neenan, Ph.D., Director of the Division of Research and Statistics.
NYS unemployment is seasonally adjusted. In January there were 851,400 unemployed New York Point out residents, this decreased to 845,100 in February.
