Obama First Pitch
President Obama threw out the first pitch at the Washington Nationals opening day game against Philadelphia Phillies, and what a pitch it was! Or lack there of. The pitch was a great energy, getting President needless to say, but didn’t very impress the stadium of fans and viewers nation wide.
Maybe if Obama hadn’t mismatched his “outfit” this year, he might have had much better luck. Nice touch on wearing the Nationals team jacket but the White Sox baseball cap had to become the jinks.
Mr. President took for the mound, as serious as any pitcher (sort of) could possibly be, ready for the strike out pitch. He looks for the Ryan Zimmerman…..eyes focused….ball in glove…..up goes his proper leg (expert like of course) for the wind up….and WHOOSH! The ball is straight away for the far upper Proper hand side of Zimmerman. Fortunately Zimmerman was fast, most likely assessed the predicament beforehand and produced a mid-air catch, saving Obama a little much less embarrassment.
Far from ideal but an A for effort. According to ESPN’s reports, Obama stated, “If I had a whole inning, I’m telling you, I would have cleaned up,” he mentioned.
There’s always following year. Last year Obama threw out the first pitch for the All-Star game in St. Louis. The big talk about Obama’s pitch was not his approach of pitching, however the “mom” like jeans he wore that day! This year Obama was just a little overdressed with khaki’s and dress shoes.
Phillies won 11-1.
