Ohio voters visit the polls Tuesday to come to a decision the fate of the state’s controversial collective bargaining law.
Ohio Issue 2, a referendum on Senate Bill 5, pits unions and progressive teams against Gov. John Kasich (R) and therefore the state’s Republican leadership in one among this year’s most closely watched elections. it’s the primary time voters are directly weighing in on Republican plans to curtail public employee advantages and collective bargaining within the country. the difficulty has outlined Kasich’s initial year in workplace and has him following within the footsteps of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R), who faces a possible recall vote next year, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), who has seen elements of his set up gone along a Democratic controlled legislature.
The referendum — Ohio Issue 2 on the ballot — places the fate of the law within the hands of Ohio voters within the election on Nov. 8, 2011.
