In Washington and neighboring Montgomery and Prince George’s counties in Maryland heavy storms rolled through the region, downing power lines, trees, and tragically killing 2 people. Authorities say there are vast quantities of damage inside the area and function is getting carried out today to test to restore power.

Pepco, regional utility, reported more than 240,000 customers without power and since the injury and power outages are so widespread, there is certainly not yet a timetable in spot for when power is going to be restored, in accordance with Pepco spokesman, Clay Anderson. The damage isn’t merely confined to downed power lines but in addition several transformers were damaged and electric poles in fact broken.

An Associated Press report on NPR mentioned that according to Prince George’s County fire spokesman, Mark Brady, a lady in her 40s was killed plus a woman in her 60s injured, whenever a tree fell onto a minivan in Beltsville. There was much more heartbreak each time a 6-year-old boy died right after a huge part of a tree fell down on him in Loudoun County although he was out walking with his loved ones.

Also in Prince George’s County hundreds of residents had to evacuate when 3 dozen apartment buildings have been ruined by the storm.
