Poughkeepsie Shooting
Poughkeepsie Police Chief Ron Knapp launched a assertion late Friday night stating the officer caught in an exchange of gunfire outside the train station has died from his injuries.
The unidentified officer, an 18-year veteran, was shot in the head. Police believe the gunman killed a girl before within the day. The gunman was fatally shot, but police are unsure if he was killed by police or if he shot himself.
An additional officer was also wounded. He endured minor injuries.
