Redstone Arsenal Explosion (1 dead, 1 injured)
One person was killed and one injured in the substance explosion on the Army’s Redstone Arsenal on Wednesday, but details about the trigger had been not immediately available, an emergency management official stated.
Madison County emergency operations coordinator Jim Pockrus mentioned the morning explosion occurred in the sprawling military base at Huntsville that’s residence for the Army missile command.
Pockrus stated it had been a “chemical-type” explosion and arsenal officials had been “not requesting any help” from city or county responders. An arsenal spokesman didn’t instantly return a call for comment.
Redstone Arsenal, which says it employs 32,000 folks on 38,000 acres at Huntsville, could be the center of Army missile and helicopter applications. The base also develops and maintains weapons techniques for that Army.
