RIP Ron Santo
Ron Santo, a star third baseman from the Chicago Cubs and their longtime broadcaster who grew to become a revered figure for his exploits around the field and his battle against juvenile diabetes, died Thursday inside a hospital in Arizona. He was 70.
The cause was difficulties of bladder cancer, stated WGN Radio, where Santo was a Cubs color commentator.
Taking part in for the Chicago Cubs from 1960 to 1973, then for a last season with the Chicago White Sox, Santo hit 342 career home runs, won five Gold Glove awards for fielding and was named an All-Star nine times.
Rest in peace Mr. Santo. Mr. Santo produced listening to Cubs games a pleasure. One of the best voices in sports activities. Cubs games usually are not heading to become exactly the same without you.
