Robin Neal named Forsyth’s top teacher
Robin Neal, third grade teacher at Matt Elementary School, was recently named Forsyth County Schools‘ 2010 Teacher of the Year in the annual Celebration of Excellence.
“Mrs. Neal can be described as compassionate, creative and caring,” said her principal, Charlotte Stalder. “She engages her students in lessons that are standards based but also fun and exciting for the students. When asked why they thought Neal was the best teacher, her students replied, ‘because we have fun every day’.”
Neal, that’s also the 2010 Elementary School TOTY, has taught since 1990 and includes a Bachelor’s of Science degree in early Childhood Education from Towson State University and a Masters in Education in School Counseling in the University of West Alabama.
“Every day I make contributions to the education of my students,” said Neal. “Being entrusted with the care and education of the children of my community is a responsibility I take very seriously; I know what I do everyday influences the lives of these children.”
Neal will represent Forsyth County in the 2011 Georgia Teacher of the Year Program.
