Stan Kroenke now owns the Rams
Stanley Kroenke has been unanimously approved by NFL owners and team officials as majority operator of the St. Louis Rams.
A 63-year-old sports mogul, Kroenke also owns the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Rapids and Colorado Avalanche, although lives in Columbia, Missouri. Nevertheless, as part of the transaction, he is forced to provide up ownership with the Nuggets and Avalanche, although they are going to most likely be “sold” to his children.
Kroenke is married to Anne Walton, a Wal-Mart heir. He had already owned 40 percent of the Rams, but he now takes more than majority ownership.
“Building organizations that win consistently is a challenge that we understand,” said Kroenke. “We are excited about the opportunity as principal owner of the St. Louis Rams.”
