Google distributed some 5,000 Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to attendees of the sold-out Google I/O 2011 developer conference Tuesday in San Francisco. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs Honeycomb, the most recent version of the Google Android cellular operating system.

The unit is known as right after its 10.1 inch display screen, and is available in 16GB or 32GB variations. Powered by a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, the gadget offers display resolution of 1280×800 pixels, 1080p video recording and playback, an 8 megapixel rear digital camera with an LED flash, and a 2 megapixel front digital camera. It’s rumored that the Tab’s pricing will start off at $399 prior to taxes, but Samsung hasn’t formally confirmed exactly where it will be available or for just how much.
