Yesterday Dealbreaker published a picture of an ATM receipt identified in East Hampton (very same ocean because the Rockaways, but with significantly increased rent) shows a balance hovering at $100 million. that means the owner of this checking account has so much money.

Later within the day, the mystery owner from the errant receipt was revealed to be none other than hedge fund king, David Tepper.

Turns out our skepticism was justified: the New York Post contacted Tepper, who laughed and said he’s also sophisticated a money man to depart much cash within a low-yielding account.

He “wasn’t in the Hamptons in June at all.” Also, he said, “I would never do something as irresponsible as leaving $100 million in a savings account,” .

Barnes & Noble made a splash last November with the launch of the $249 Nook Color, the first mainstream dedicated electronic reader with a full-color touch-screen. And the bookseller recently pushed out a major software upgrade for Nook Color to widen the appeal of its “reader tablet.”

The new device weighs less than 7.5 ounces, or 35% lighter and 15% thinner than the original Nook Wi-Fi was when it came out about a year and a half ago

The latest Nook fetches $139, which puts it above the $114 Amazon is charging for a Kindle with ads. You can pre-order online and in stores now and the updated Nook should start shipping to customers June 10th. You’ll also be able to pick one up at BestBuy, Walmart, Books-A-Million, and Staples for $139 at the same time.

jacksonthrillerviewsMichael Jackson’s online popularity continues to soar: we reported previously that 2.6 million Michael Jackson songs were downloaded this week; Nielsen SoundScan says that no artist has ever sold more than 1 million downloads in a single week.

But Jackson is dominating in online video, too. Visible Measures, which goes beyond YouTube (YouTube) views and instead aggregates views from 150+ video sites, reports today that videos of Thriller have been viewed almost 28 million times since Thursday. The count includes tributes to the original, like the prison inmates’ performance below.

What’s more, the viewership has been accelerating, with 8.5 million total views this weekend and more than 19 million additional views on Monday and Tuesday. Jackson, it seems, is getting more popular by the day.
