Nowadays marks the anniversary of “The Day the Music Died.” Buddy Holly’s death on February 3, 1959 was known as the day the music died by Don McLean in his song, “American Pie.”

The legendary singer and songwriter died inside a airplane crash in 1959 following finishing a performance in Iowa when he was only 22 years old and left a pregnant widow, who suffered a miscarriage shortly after the accident. Big Bopper was 28, and Ritchie Valens was only 17 years old.
