The Legend of Korra : Nickelodeon New Avatar Series
Nickelodeon has just greenlighted a brand new animated series, The Legend of Korra. In accordance with the network’s president, Brown Johnson, the series will expand the mythology of the Avatar universe — with it becoming set seventh years after the events of the original The Last Airbender series.
The series follows the adventures of Korra, a “passionate, rebellious and fearless” teenager in the Southern Water Tribe, who seeks a master for your final element of Air — seeing that she’s already mastered three from the four components.
Her travels ultimately lead her for the metropolis of Republic City, an epicenter for that modern Avatar world. Although a thriving society of benders and non-benders alike, Republic City can also be ridden with crime, such as an anti-bending rebellion that’s gaining momentum. Below the guidance of Aang’s son, Tenzin, Korra begins her airbending training as she confronts the dangers ahead of her.
The Legend of Korra is going to be created at Nickelodeon Animation Studios and is expected to commence airing sometime in 2011.
