‘Three Cups of Tea’ will be reviewed again by publisher
Viking, the publisher of “Three Cups of Tea,” mentioned in a statement on Monday that it would review the book and its contents together with the author, Greg Mortenson, after a CBS News report that referred to as into question the accuracy of component of the book.
A report on “60 Minutes” on Sunday questioned a central anecdote of “Three Cups of Tea”: in 1993, Mr. Mortenson stumbled across the modest village of Korphe in northeast Pakistan soon after failing to summit K2.
Mr. Mortenson has defended the data inside the book, but has also explained that it had been based mostly on a “compressed version of events.”
