The IRS has launched a free app for Apple and Android devices that permit you to track the status of your tax refund. The IRS2Go app also enables you to sign up for tax suggestions or get the most current IRS Twitter feed. The app is free through the iTunes store or through the Android Market.
Smartphone customers enter their Social Security number, which can be encrypted, pick the submitting status employed on their tax return and enter the amount of the refund they count on from their 2010 tax return.
For individuals who file their returns electronically, the app sends an update inside 72 hours of the taxpayers’ e-mailed acknowledgment stating the IRS received their tax return. Paper filers need to wait 3 to 4 weeks to test their refund status.
