Based on National Hurricane Center in Miami, Tropical Storm Earl is nonetheless on pace to turning out to be a hurricane by late tomorrow or early Saturday.

At 5 a.m., the system’s sustained winds topped out at 45 mph, and its minimum central stress stood at 1004 millibars, or 29.65 inches. It was about 695 miles west of the southernmost Cape Verde Islands, at latitude 15.2 north and longitude 34.8 west.

Tropical Storm Earl was moving west-northwest close to 16 mph and must maintain that course for that next two days. Most personal computer models predict that the method will at some point turn north, away in the Gulf of Mexico.
