Unemployment Extension 2010
Sen. Charles Schumer (NY-D.) and Debbie Stabenow (Mich-D.) at the same time, Democrats say confidence and readiness to go ahead and bring temporary extension of unemployment benefits in the near future.
Hope emerges is an extension during the year.
“We certainly want to pass the yearlong UI extension. We expect to pass it quite soon. It’s with a bunch of other issues,” he said. “So it was a more complicated bill than just passing UI.”
Although the Senator will vote to end debate on an emergency, the monthly benefit extensions including unemployment insurance and Cobra plan on Monday. The vote would move toward ending debate on a measure to retroactively restore benefits that had lapsed at the end of last month, and fund those benefits through the end of April.
Schumer and Stabenow hit Republicans for having held up a vote, a snag lawmakers had hit over a dispute over how to pay for the extension.
Schumer and Stabenow say: “Their position ignores the fact that unemployment extensions has always been considered emergency spending,” Schumer said during a conference call Monday.
“I think that we ought to put the blame where it belongs, with the dilatory actions on the other side of the aisle.”
Schumer also ensure that Democrats hope will provide financing for small business investment, where funding can be used from unused funds from the Wall Street Bailout program in 2008.

Bet the Republicans would change their minds, if they found themselves out of work and out of unemployment. Where would your money come from for food, house payments, medical and utility bills? Wake up and extend the unemployment benefits or you could just give it to big banks.
Thanks to government unemployment benefits, nobody has to work.
