Unemployment Extension July 20 2010 (Update)
Lots of unemployed Americans are now expecting the very much awaited unemployment bill being passed within this week. West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin already appointed Carte Goodwin to replace the late Senator Richard Byrd to full the required 60 votes.
Carte Goodwin is scheduled to be sworn in the Senate on Tuesday at 2:15 pm after which immediately following, at 2:30, they’ll start voting for the unemployment extension bill. That vote is going to be on the motion to invoke cloture about the movement to proceed. When that passes, a cloture motion on the bill itself will probably be in purchase for Thursday morning. Right after that, one more vote about the “motion to concur in the House amendment to the Senate amendment to the bill with Reid Amendment No. 4425” will be voted inside 30 hours just before it can send more than for the Residence of Representatives for your final vote and lastly lined up for Obama’s signature.
For that record, H.R. 4213 is going to be the unemployment extension bill that will probably be voted upon. This is not a Tier 5 unemployment bill. Nonetheless, this bill proposes to extend the filing deadline for current tiers (Tiers 1- 4) of unemployment advantages until November 30, 2010 and extend for 3 month the closing deadline for first-time home buyers seeking to get the $8,000 tax credit.
