Veterans Day 2010, A patriotic ceremony honoring America’s military members and Veterans is scheduled for Thursday, November 11, 2010, at eleven a.m., in Arlington National Cemetery. A wreath-laying ceremony will take location in the Tomb with the Unknowns, adopted by a ceremony contained in the Memorial Amphitheater, adjacent to the Tomb. The occasion will commence having a prelude concert by “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band at 10:30 a.m., within the amphitheater.

This year’s celebration will be hosted by Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki; Colonel Roger Dimsdale, U.S. Military, Retired, National Commander with the Legion of Valor of the USA; and Major General Karl R. Horst, Commander in the U.S. Army Military District of Washington as well as the Joint Force Headquarters–National Capital Region.

Each ceremonies are free and open for the public. No tickets are needed to attend these events. The occasions conclude at noon. At 8 a.m., the cemetery gates open plus a free shuttle service will begin transporting visitors in the Arlington National Cemetery visitor center for the Tomb/amphitheater.
