Sadie pulled ahead of 2,500 other entrants at the 134th annual show.

One of the judges, Elliot Weiss, gushed about Sadie, calling her the “total package.”

“This is the complete dog…That’s what you want a Scottie to look like,” said Weiss facing an enthusiastic crowd at Madison Square Garden.

Despite Sadie’s win, it seemed the crowd in attendance had their own favorite; Loud cheers rained down for both a Doberman Pinscher and a French Bulldog.

At some point, protesters disturbed the dog, as two women ran out to the winner’s circle and initiated signs, certainly one of which said, “Mutts rule.” The women, displeased through the Westminster Dog Show’s favoritism regarding pure breeds, were removed by security.

Sadie’s win fell in line with an extended history of terriers winning the Westminster Dog Show. Over the a few weeks, Sadie will be featured around television, making the rounds in the media similar to Super Bowl XLIV MVP Drew Brees.
